Join us for a special Pewabic Tile Walking Tour! This 2-hour tour takes you to 5 different sites in Midtown Detroit that are home to historic Pewabic tile installations. Enjoy special access to iconic installations like the "storybook" fireplace at the Detroit Public Library, and Wayne State University's Old Main building which are not regularly accessible to the public.

Our team of Pewabic experts will share the history of how the tiles were made, who commissioned them, and who designed the following installations:

Note: This is a walking tour and much of the tour will take place outdoors. Please dress appropriately for the weather. We will be walking approximately 1.3 miles on mostly level terrain. We will be entering a building with stairs and no elevator access. 

Please note: Tour dates are nontransferable. Pewabic will not issue a cash refund within 48 hours of the walking tour. Failure to attend a registered tour will result in a forfeit of tuition. Pewabic is under no obligation to reschedule walking tours that are canceled upon the closure of the facility due to inclement weather, power outages, or Covid shut down, –in these cases, a refund will be issued.
