Originally titled Little Blower Girl, this tile’s initial design dates back to 1903, when Pewabic founder Mary Chase Perry Stratton created it for the American Blower Company of Detroit, a manufacturer of industrial fans to cool auto factories. The child depicted was modeled after the daughter of Horace Caulkins, Perry Stratton’s business partner and developer of the Revelation Kiln. This variation of the original – with wings added to the girl to make her an angel – came into production in 2002.
