The Pewabic Pint is a simple ceramic pint glass with sides that slightly slope outwards to create a larger opening at the top. These pints feature smooth sides and have been stamped with the circular Pewabic logo on one side. The the glossy, deep red Winterberry glaze is featured on the sides of the cup with a warm gray glaze inside that spills over about an inch onto the outer cup. This set of two Pints comes in a specially designed gift box that can be used for storage.

Winterberry Glaze

Red is a notoriously difficult color to achieve in ceramics. Creating our dramatic Winterberry glaze  consistently requires meticulous effort, culminating in the hottest firing we do at Pewabic. The oxygen in the kiln is reduced to capture this rich, red hue. In certain places, the oxygen lingers a little longer to produce flashes of milky white, adding to Winterberry’s appeal and uniqueness. 

Due to the extra effort required to achieve this glossy red, Winterberry is only offered seasonally.
