The Old Detroit Tile depicts the the skyline of Detroit past and was originally designed by Pewabic co-founder Mary Chase Perry Stratton, circa 1915-1917. 

In the forefront is the former wooden Belle Isle Bridge. Symbols representing Detroit industry, agriculture, nautical industries, and construction are located in each corner of the tile.
