![This rectangular Detroit Map Tile has a line drawing of the areal street view of downtown Detroit. The word "Detroit" is written at the bottom of the design. The raised areas of this tile - the word Detroit and the street lines - are scraped which means that it has an orange color while the background is a dark matte blue glaze. The frame is a deep reddish brown oak wood.](http://www.pewabic.org/cdn/shop/files/DSC_2364_GP_2016_114x144_crop_center.png?v=1692824575)

Framed Downtown Detroit Map Tile
$156.00
Pewabic highlights the city it has called home for 115 years – and counting – with this hand-painted map detail of downtown Detroit.
After Detroit’s devastating 1805 fire, Judge Augustus Woodward modeled the streets after Pierre Charles L'Enfant’s Washington D.C. hub-and-spoke grid, creating Detroit’s distinctive street design, detailed here from Grand Circus Park to the Detroit Riverfront.
Handcrafted in the Arts and Crafts tradition, these frames are made from quarter-sawn white oak by a Michigan craftsman and are ready to ship.
